Commonwealth Games gold medallist Cam Gliddon has signed on to a new two-year contract with the Jadcup Tuatara and will lead the franchise over the next two Sal’s NBL seasons.
Gliddon retired from his glittering playing career in 2024 after two seasons starring for the Jadcup Tuatara. He immediately made the jump into coaching, taking on the head coach role and led the team to the finals once again in 2025.
Well settled in Auckland with his wife Sarah and children Penny and Jimmy, re-signing with the club was not a difficult decision.
“I am delighted to extend my stay with the Jadcup Tuatara and continue the work we’ve put into this point,” Gliddon said.
“The family loves it here and we feel very much at home.
“I love what we have here at the franchise, and I think I learned a lot over the past 12 months that will help us to be more successful in the future.
“We faced a lot of challenges as a franchise this year and I’m proud of how we handled those and feel we are set up to be really successful in the coming years.”
Jadcup Tuatara GM Dale Budge said reappointing Gliddon was an easy call to make.
“It is a huge task asking a player to go straight into a head coaching role, but it didn’t surprise us to see how well Cam handled that,” Budge said.
“He is a high-quality individual that balances a fierce desire to win with a pragmatic and empathetic style of coaching.
“Cam is the perfect fit for our franchise, and we are delighted to be able to secure him for the next two seasons.”
The club will turn its attentions to assembling the remainder of Gliddon’s coaching and management staff for 2026 before free agency opens later in the year.
