Star recruit Will Hickey provided the Jadcup Tuatara their first triple double in club history as they beat the Southland Sharks 102-92 in Invercargill Friday night.
Hickey, who only arrived in the country on Thursday after leading the Illawarra Hawks to the Australian NBL crown, scored a team high 29 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, a steal and a block in a phenomenal performance.
Charles Pride chipped in with a double double – scoring 19 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. He also contributed six steals – a club record, equalling Donte Russo-Nance’s performance against the Bulls in 2022.
Rob Loe had 16 points and Tom Vodanovich 14.
The Tuatara improved to 2-3 on the season and face the Otago Nuggets in Dunedin on Sunday.
