Tall Blacks captain Reuben Te Rangi will return to the franchise for the 2024 Sal’s NBL season after inking a new deal.
Te Rangi, who helped guide the Tuatara to the Sal’s NBL minor premiership and a second successive grand final appearance in 2023, joins an all-star cast alongside Rob Loe, Cam Gliddon, Tom Vodanovich, Chris McIntosh, Nick Barrow, Reuben Fitzgerald, Tukaha Cooper and Aaron Sievert.
“Reuben is the ultimate professional and he really enjoyed his time with us last season so it wasn’t a tough decision for him to come back,” coach Aaron Young said.
“He had a massive impact on the way our team performed last year and I know he is eager to help the team go one better in 2024.”
The 29-year-old has fashioned an incredible record in both the Sal’s NBL and the Australian NBL during his glittering career.
Te Rangi has won the NBL Rookie of the Year, Finals MVP and three League titles, and is currently playing for the South East Melbourne Phoenix in the Australian Basketball League.
The long-time Tall Black will link up with the Tuatara in time for the start of the Sal’s NBL season in late March.
