The Auckland Tuatara are bringing back another foundation player after signing point guard Reuben Fitzgerald to a contract for the 2024 Sal’s NBL season.
Fitzgerald’s signing follows the recent addition of fellow foundation player Chris McIntosh. He has been a regular fixture in Tuatara colours since they came into the league in 2022.
He helped the Aaron Young-coached side make the Grand Final in each of their first two seasons and looks set to be a key performer for the club in Sky Broadband Rapid League as it makes its debut next season.
Fitzgerald starred for the Tuatara in the 3X3 Cup in October and will provide the club great depth.
“Reuben has been a key component of our side the past two seasons,” Young said. “He is a smart guy and has a high basketball IQ and is a great character off the court, which suits our group well.
“I think he is a player that will thrive with the introduction of Rapid League in 2024.”
Fitzgerald joins Rob Loe, Cam Gliddon, Tom Vodanovich and Chris McIntosh on the Tuatara roster for 2024.
