The Auckland Tuatara used a fourth quarter rally to overcome the Manawatu Jets 96-82 for their fifth straight Sal’s NBL win at Eventfinda Stadium on Saturday night.
The two sides were never separated by more than a handful of goals throughout the contest until the final minutes when the Tuatara kicked clear.
Jarrad Weeks sparked a late rally with a couple of breakaway dunks that got the big home crowd vocal. Rob Loe was huge defensively down the stretch while teenage star Charlie Dalton came up with some big moments as well to help Aaron Young’s side to their eight win from 11 games.
Loe finished with a game high 31 points to go with 11 rebounds, five assists, a pair of steals and a block in another superb display.
Weeks had 22 points, five boards and six assists while Dalton had 14 points and six rebounds.
The Tuatara are next in action against the cross-town Franklin Bulls at Eventfinda Stadium next Sunday night.
