Luka Vea signs on with Tuatara

Talented young Aucklander Luka Vea has inked a deal to play for the Auckland Tuatara in the 2022 Sal’s NBL.

The Auckland Grammar product is capable of playing at shooting guard or small forward and has spent the past year in the United States competing against some of America’s highest profiled high school prospects.

“Luka represents everything we pride ourselves on, on and off the court,” coach Aaron Young said.

“His athleticism and energy will provide the spark required to compete in this league and he joins a talented group of young local talent in our side.”

Vea joins a Tuatara roster that includes Rob Loe, Chris Johnson, Siler Schneider, Dan Fotu, Taki Fahrensohn, Nick Barrow, Chris McIntosh, Dontae Russo-Nance, Braydon Iuli, Reuben Fitzgerald, Tom Beattie, Charlie Dalton and Kainoa Lepou.

The Tuatara begin their inaugural Sal’s NBL season when they host the Taranaki Mountainairs at Eventfinda Stadium this Saturday from 7.30pm.
