The Auckland Tuatara have secured the signing of exciting Australian guard Will “Davo” Hickey for the 2025 Sal’s NBL season.
Hickey is having a terrific season for the table-topping Illawarra Hawks in the Australian Basketball League and was selected to represent his country in 2024.
New Tuatara head coach Cam Gliddon is thrilled at the prospect of having Hickey on his roster.
“Davo will be one of the premier players in the competition and will give us a real offensive punch,” Gliddon said.
“He was someone we set ourselves on well before free agency started and I am delighted to be able to pair him up with the likes of Rob Loe and Tom Vodanovich.”
The 25-year-old Hickey enjoyed superb end to the 2023-24 ANBL season with the Hawks, earning big minutes as they made a run to the playoffs.
He has continued that in 2024-25 and has been shortlisted for the NBL’s Sixth Man of the Year award.
He joins a roster that includes Loe, Vodanovich, Dan Fotu, Charles Pride, Dylan Wilkie and Josh Wyllie.
