Vodanovich, Whale claim Tuatara awards

Manager Delwyn Whale and power forward Tom Vodanovich claimed the major awards at the Jadcup Tuatara end of season awards luncheon.

Whale, in her first season as manager, was named the Club Person of the Year after she took the team to new standards off the court. From providing recovery food at training, setting the locker room up to a personalised level for each player and providing home baking for the group, Whale’s award win was a popular choice within the group.

Vodanovich claimed the overall Player of the Year award after playing all 21 games for the Jadcup Tuatara in 2025. In his second season with the club, the Tall Blacks star was a model of consistency, drove culture and provided leadership throughout.

He backed that up by taking out the Players Player award, voted on by his peers.

Josh Wyllie, fresh from returning from a successful trip with the Junior Tall Blacks, was named the Young Player of the Year while veteran centre Nick Barrow was given the Coaches Award for his professional approach to the game and unwavering commitment to the team.

The Jadcup Tuatara made the playoffs for a fourth successive season before going down to the Southland Sharks in the play-in game on Thursday night.
