North Shore local Josh Wyllie will return to the Auckland Tuatara for a second season in 2025 after inking a new deal with the three-time Sal’s NBL runners-up.
The 18-year-old point guard played a handful of games for the Tuatara during the 2024 season and has impressed the coaching staff ahead of the 2025 campaign.
“Josh is a real talent that has been a standout during our pre-season scrimmages,” coach Cam Gliddon said.
“He is making great strides with his game and thoroughly deserves this opportunity.
“I think he can play a significant role with us in 2025.”
Wyllie, a triplet, previously worked as a volunteer at Tuatara games, ushering fans to their seats. Now those same fans are coming along to watch him in action, wearing a Tuatara uniform.
He joins a Tuatara roster that includes former League MVPs Rob Loe and Tom Vodanovich, Tall Blacks forward Dan Fotu, and sharp shooter Dylan Wilkie.
