The Auckland Tuatara Schick Cup 3X3 team will face the Canterbury Rams in the quarter-finals on Saturday after a terrific win over Northland in cross-over play Friday.
Reuben Fitzgerald and Tom Beattie sparked the offense as the Tuatara shot out of the blocks early and gained control over Northland in their decisive game late on Friday.
Captain Chris McIntosh and forward Liam Judd were strong as well in what was a brilliant team performance.
Earlier in the day the Tuatara accounted for the West Coast Rapids to finish pool play with a 3-4 record.
“We’ve been building our chemistry and offense/defense for the playoffs and its good to show it when comes to the important games,” said McIntosh.
They meet the Rams in the quarter-finals at 12.05pm at ILT Stadium, Invercargill.
