A career high 28 points from Charlie Dalton and a double double by Rob Loe has powered the Auckland Tuatara to a 89-78 win over the Franklin Bulls in Pukekohe.
Loe finished with 18 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block in an inspired performance as the Tuatara brushed off missing their three Tall Blacks starters for the second game running.
Braydon Iuli poured in 18 points and six assists as the Tuatara led from the opening quarter and improved to 15-3 on the season.
With just two regular season games remaining, the Tuatara are close to securing a direct route to the semi-finals and the right to host.
They head to New Plymouth next Sunday to face the Airs.
