The Auckland Tuatara have confirmed the signing of import guard Siler Schneider ahead of their maiden Sal’s NBL campaign this season.
The 26-year-old American projects to be a key contributor for the Tuatara this season.
He spent four years in the UC Davis Division 1 program in the US College system before becoming a professional and comes to New Zealand after a stint playing in Denmark.
“Siler has a complete game, and his toughness makes him a perfect fit for the team we are looking to build,” coach Aaron Young said.
“Coming off a successful season with IC Horsens in Denmark (averaging 15 points 5 assists) Siler is an exceptional leader and will offer great poise to a young roster that looks to follow his path and become pros at the next level.”
Schneider joins the Tuatara roster which includes Tall Blacks Rob Loe and Taki Fahrensohn, an experienced core of Nick Barrow, Chris McIntosh and Reuben Fitzgerald and a phenomenally talented young cast of Dontae Russo-Nance, Braydon Iuli, Dan Fotu and others.
