Tuatara move past Airs to make it nine straight

The Auckland Tuatara made it nine on the bounce as they beat the Taranaki Mountainairs 108-94 at TSB Stadium in New Plymouth on Thursday night.

The visitors led throughout the contest and managed to come up with an answer whenever the Airs mounted any kind of rally.

Reuben Te Rangi led all scorers with 30 points (9-15), including six of eight, from deep to go with four rebounds, three assists and a steal.

He got plenty of help from league MVP favourite Rob Loe, who added 23 points, 10 boards, two assists, three steals and two blocks while Cam Gliddon was the dominant player on court in the first half – he finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

Jarrad Weeks was facilitator more than scorer – ending the game with 10 points and 11 assists while also making four swipes.

Joe Lawson made his presence felt with 15 points off the bench.

The Tuatara head home to Eventfinda Stadium on Sunday when they host the Canterbury Rams from 6pm.
