Tuatara hammer Giants, move to 11-3

The Auckland Tuatara hammered the Nelson Giants 104-70 at Eventfinda Stadium on Saturday night to extend their Sal’s NBL winning streak to eight games.

Teenager Charlie Dalton fired the Tuatara out of the blocks, scoring the first seven points of the game with plenty of energy and his side never looked back.

They led by 18 points at halftime and extended that out to 34 by the night’s end.

Rob Loe double doubled once again, scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds while not playing the final five minutes of the game.

Dalton finished with 15 points, four boards and a pair of dimes while Reuben Te Rangi had 16 points, three rebounds and four assists.

The Tuatara got plenty of punch off their bench with Kruz Perrott-Hunt lighting it up with 13 points, four rebounds and three assists while Joe Lawson III had 12 points, four rebounds and six assists.

Aaron Young’s side head off to New Plymouth on Thursday to face the Airs before returning to Eventfinda Stadium next Saturday for a crucial clash with the Canterbury Rams.
