The Auckland Tuatara have signed American forward Joe Lawson III for the remainder of the Sal’s NBL season and expect to have him suit up next weekend against the Franklin Bulls.
The 30-year-old Lawson, an Indianapolis native, is a 10-year professional with experience playing all around the world.
He most recently played in Romania before heading back to the United States last month.
“Joe will complement what we have with this group and give us some help up front,” coach Aaron Young said.
“He is a big and powerful and can do a bit of everything. I think his skillset will complement the rest of our group well.
“He is versatile for his size and has played all around the world in some very good leagues.”
The Tuatara have a share of the lead atop the Sal’s NBL ladder having won seven of their 10 games so far this season, including their past four straight.
They face the Manawatu Jets at Eventfinda Stadium from 7pm on Saturday night.
