The Auckland Tuatara have been handed their first loss of the Sal’s NBL season as they’ve gone down to the Southland Sharks 97-77 in Invercargill on Friday night.
After a fast start the visitors struggled with their shot and to cover the absence of centre Rob Loe, who missed the game with a minor hip injury.
Cam Gliddon had a big night offensively, scoring a game-high 31 points with nine from long range. He also added seven rebounds to go with a steal and a block in a brilliant solo effort.
Guard Jarrad Weeks tried his heart out and was two assists short of a triple double as he scored 16 points, picked up 10 boards and had eight dimes.
Reuben Te Rangi scored 17 points.
After finishing the first quarter at 21-all, the Sharks took control and eased to their second win of the season.
The Tuatara will now head to Wellington to face the Saints on Sunday.
