Russo-Nance named Youth Player of the Year

Auckland Tuatara guard Dontae Russo-Nance has won the Sal’s NBL Youth Player of the Year it was announced on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old St Kentigern College student has been a stand-out in his second season playing in the New Zealand domestic showpiece.

He has averaged 15.6 points per game to go with 4.5 assists and 2.9 steals while averaging over 32 minutes a game this season.

Tuatara captain Rob Loe claimed the Stan Hill Trophy for Most Outstanding NZ Forward/Centre while American import Chris Johnson was voted to All Star Five despite missing a chunk of the season.

The Tuatara play the Wellington Saints in their first ever playoff game at 8pm on Wednesday night at Eventfinda Stadium.
