Reigning Sal’s NBL MVP Rob Loe has re-signed with the Auckland Tuatara for another season and will lead the team into the 2024 competition.

Loe enjoyed an outstanding season in 2023, winning the overall MVP award as well as numerous other awards as he led the Tuatara to a second successive grand final appearance.

He wasted little time in inking a new deal to return for a third season as the Tuatara chase an elusive maiden title.

“I was always keen to come back for another tilt and just had to wait for free agency to open and for me to get back from my short stay with Melbourne United,” Loe said.

“I love playing for the Tuatara – the coaching staff, players and front office are a close bunch and we have built an amazing culture that I enjoy being part of.

“We are obviously very motivated to go one better and get that championship in 2024.”

At the end of last season Loe agreed to a role with the club’s community arm that sees him working in schools during the week, helping kids learn life lessons while using basketball as a fun tool.

The Tuatara expect to make more player announcements in the coming days.
