The Auckland Tuatara have signed another talented amateur player for the 2024 Sal’s NBL season with schoolboy Jackson Kiss putting pen to paper.
Kiss, a student with Tongan heritage that is in Year 12 at Auckland Grammar School, has long been touted as a future star of the game and he is the latest local youngster that will get their first taste of elite level basketball with the Tuatara.
Over the previous couple of seasons, the Auckland franchise has handed contracts to talented school students such as Dontae Russo-Nance, Charlie Dalton and Tom Beattie with great success.
The 6’6 Kiss is tipped for a full role with the Tuatara in 2024, particularly with the introduction of Sky Broadband Rapid League.
“We really like what Jackson brings to the table,” said coach Aaron Young.
“He has a lot of natural ability; he is prepared to work hard to go with that and he has a massive future in the sport.
“We look forward to helping him start on his basketball journey and assist him to reach his goals.”
Kiss joins a talented roster that includes Rob Loe, Tom Vodanovich, Cam Gliddon, Reuben Te Rangi, Corey Webster, Chris McIntosh, Nick Barrow, Reuben Fitzgerald, Tukaha Cooper, Josh Leger and Aaron Sievert.
