Auckland Tuatara basketball star Charlie Dalton will head overseas on Wednesday in preparation for the U-19 Beach Volleyball World Championships.
The dual-code star will represent New Zealand in Turkey at the world championship event but will fly to Los Angeles initially to prepare.
Dalton, who made his Sal’s NBL debut with the Tuatara this year while still at high school, is looking forward to the challenge.
“Definitely the exposure piece and being able to play on the world stage,” Dalton said.
“Because it’s a world champs, it’s the ultimate peak of our age group in beach volleyball which is pretty exciting.
“Playing Asian Championships earlier this year has been good for me, but this is another step up, being able to see the European teams and experience all different types of game play.”
The U19 Beach Volleyball World Championships take place in Dikili, İzmir, in Turkey on September 14-18.
