Former Auckland Grammar school student Conor Flanagan has signed on with the Auckland Tuatara for the upcoming 2023 Sal’s NBL season.

The 6’8 power forward is back in Auckland having completed a Bachelor of Arts, History and Anthropology at the University of West Florida, where he also thrived as a basketball player.

Flanagan won a GSC championship title, was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC America) Honor Court in 2020 as well as being included on the UWF President’s Academic Honor Roll in the spring of 2020 thanks to his studies.

Upon returning to Auckland, Flanagan has been training with Tuatara coach Aaron Young and has really impressed.

“Conor deserves his chance to play in the Sal’s NBL and I think he could have a significant role with us this season,” Young said.

“He has impressed me with his work ethic and his all-round game.

“He is an intelligent and hard working young man that typifies what we want in our players.”

Memberships to all nine home games at Eventfinda Stadium are available now.

The season begins on April 8 with a road game in Nelson against the Giants.
