I’m thrilled to get a win first up in the Sal’s NBL especially having to go to Nelson to face a tough Giants team.
It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t a vintage performance at all but I was really pleased we showed composure and were able to respond when the Giants came back at us.
I saw leadership from our older guys, calling the group together in a huddle and talking through what we needed to do.
We didn’t play at our best but I was happy we could weather the storm and come away with victory.
Reuben’s efficiency was great, he got into the paint and was able to settle our offense. Rob had a huge night, scored some big buckets when we needed them and was productive as ever at the defensive end.
Weeksy scored some timely threes and his ruthlessness effort defending was a big factor for us.
Charlie was great – he gave us a lot of energy and scored some early points to get us going. We acknowledged him as a group after the game.
All in all, it was a good start to the season, and we have got to spend some time together as a group, which will be invaluable moving forward.
I look forward to seeing everyone in the stands at Eventfinda Stadium on Friday when we face the Airs back home.
Well done Team. Great to see you back in action. Best wishes for another brilliant season of the Tuatara‘s displaying their skills. Good luck guys!
