New Zealand Breakers and Australian guard Cam Gliddon has joined the Auckland Tuatara for the 2023 Sal’s NBL season.

The 33-year-old won the Australian NBL’s Rookie of the Year in 2012-13 after a sensational debut season with the Cairns Taipans.

He spent six seasons with the Taipans and was arguably their best player during that run before two-year stints with the Brisbane Bullets and South East Melbourne Phoenix for two seasons.

Gliddon played the 2019 Sal’s NBL season with the Canterbury Rams, where he was named to the All Star Five and was the announced as the league’s premier guard after averaging 14.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

“Cam is going to be a great fit for our group and culture,” said coach Aaron Young.

“He embodies what it takes to be a pro and that experience is going to be extremely invaluable to our squad. Have always respected his professionalism and dedication to the game.

“When I first started my coaching journey as a video analyst for the Breakers, I got a front-row seat to him torching us every game at Eventfinda Stadium (old NSEC) so I’m glad he’s jumped ship and is one of us.”

Gliddon joins Breakers teammate Rob Loe on the 2023 Tuatara roster.

More players will be announced in the coming days.

Memberships to all nine home games at Eventfinda Stadium are available now.
