Brilliant Tuatara bounce back in Wellington

The Auckland Tuatara bounced back from their first loss with a brilliant 103-91 win over the Wellington Saints at TSB Arena on Sunday night.

The Saints got off to the stronger start, taking a 25-21 lead by the end of the first quarter but it was all the visitors from that point on.

A 30-8 second quarter saw Aaron Young’s side take control from which they would not be troubled as they ground the Saints into submission.

Reuben Te Rangi led all scorers with 34 points on 12-20 shooting, including six from beyond the arc.

Rob Loe was superb in his return after missing the Friday night loss to the Sharks in Invercargill. The big man finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a dominant showing.

Cam Gliddon continued his hot shooting, scoring 23 points and claiming 10 boards for a double double while youngster Charlie Dalton impressed with 10 points and five rebounds.

The Tuatara improve to 3-1 on the season and will face the Franklin Bulls in Pukekohe next Sunday.
