CJ gets Tuatara welcome in Taiwan

Auckland Tuatara basketball star Chris Johnson has touched down in Taiwan and is ready for the next step of his pro career.

The popular Johnson helped the Tuatara reach the Sal’s NBL grand final in their maiden season and was named to the league’s All-Star five team during his stint in Auckland.

The Las Vegas native has signed to play for the Taipei Fubon Braves in the Taiwanese league over the coming months.

He was greeted by Auckland Tuatara GM of Special Operations Cola Yeh, who is currently in Taiwan.

Yeh splits time between his native Taiwan and Auckland and has proven to be a real asset to the Auckland franchise with his extensive connections in Asian baseball and Taiwanese basketball.

Johnson’s wife Tammy and their two children will join CJ in Taiwan in the coming weeks.

The Tuatara, who hope to have Johnson back in the 2023 Sal’s NBL, wish them all the best during their time there.
