Aucklander Reuben Fitzgerald has signed on with the Auckland Tuatara for the 2022 Sal’s National Basketball League season.
The former Westlake Boys representative and three-year veteran of the league remains in Auckland after moving across from the now defunct Auckland Huskies to join the Tuatara.
The 22-year-old guard played in 11 games for the Huskies last season, largely off the bench, while he previously represented the Super City Rangers and Bay Hawks.
“It was a no-brainer signing Reuben as he offers significant leadership and game smarts to our roster,” coach Aaron Young said.
“I think he will take a big step forward this year for us and can see him having a break-out season.
“He is a great fit for our organisation and is well respected in the community.”
Fitzgerald joins Rob Loe, Dontae Russo-Nance, Chris McIntosh, Nick Barrow, Taki Fahrensohn and Braydon Iuli on the inaugural Tuatara roster.
