The Auckland Tuatara made it 10 in a row and sealed a top two spot in the Sal’s NBL Final 6 with a 104-81 win over the Canterbury Rams on Sunday night.
In the team’s final game at Eventfinda Stadium this season, the Tuatara were forced to come from by behind after training a red-hot Rams side at the end of both the first and second quarters.
Led by Australian guard Jarrad Weeks, the Tuatara responded in the third quarter to take control of the game and powered clear in the fourth to all but seal top seed heading into the playoffs.
Weeks finished with 28 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals in a dominant performance.
After getting into early foul trouble, Rob Loe posted 23 points, 12 boards, seven assists, two steals and a block while Cam Gliddon double doubled with 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
The Tuatara head to Hawke’s Bay next weekend for a game against the Hawks before rounding out the regular season with a home game at Pulman Arena in Takanini on Sunday July 16.
